For our first feature of the new year, we’re happy to introduce you to Ellen Cooley of Southern Sequence. Ellen and her team are professional organizers, bringing more joy and less chaos to their clients’ homes. We can all use help with that!

Feeling uninspired by her career as an accountant, Ellen was looking to branch out into something new. A friend asked her what she did for fun when left alone. Ellen’s reply was always “organize my closet!” After working for friends and family for a while, she slowly began taking on paying clients ~ and then Southern Sequence was born. As a full-time entrepreneur, she loves being able to work in a creative environment where her gifts are fully utilized. At Katie K. Interiors we value her ability to take a chaotic space and make it functional + less stressful for clients. We asked Ellen three questions to learn more about her.

What inspires you? Believe it or not, the chaos within our client homes is a great inspiration for me. I feel so passionately about home organization and what it can do to reduce stress that it inspires me when we get the privilege to come in and help. Of course, the beautiful homes we get to work in tend to inspire as well.

What is your favorite space to organize? I really love organizing pantries and kitchens. I find that creating a streamlined and functional system in those spaces can often make the biggest impact for our clients and their routines, because it’s a space used daily by the whole family.

And what is your most favorite project of all time? It was a big move-in project we did a few years ago. We had a large team for this one, and there was still a lot to be done to complete the home construction. It’s hard to explain, but it was absolute chaos in the best way to see our team, the home builder and various vendors all working there together to get everything move-in ready for the family.
