We source art for our clients from a variety of venues and thought we’d share some of them with you. Of course, online shopping for art is always a great option. Etsy, where thousands of artists offer their personally crafted works for sale, is an excellent place to begin. Just enter what you’re looking for in the search box and a giant grid of goodness will appear! Instagram is full of wonderful artists as well ~ local + world-wide. We’ve commissioned several pieces from local Houston artists we discovered while scrolling.

Minted: This is one of our favorite places to discover budget-friendly (and up) prints + original art. You can purchase most with or without a frame – and some prints can be transformed into canvases.

Juniper Print Shop: Another great online shop for prints at every price point is Juniper. They offer statement art from digital downloads to large framed pieces ~ and their Artist Collection includes work from over forty independent female artists. We love that! As Real Simple Magazine says, “For those who want big modern art on a tight budget, Juniper Print Shop should be your go-to!“

We also think that seeing the art in person, getting inspired by a piece that really speaks to you, is the best way to find art that will bring a lot of joy to your home. Houston is a city full of so many fabulous galleries that we can’t possibly list them all here. We’ve selected a few that have monthly exhibitions, so you can plan your summer outings now!

Sawyer Yards is a creative community thriving in the heart of Houston’s historic First Ward and Arts District Houston. With several venues all within walking distance of each other, you can visit individual artists’ studios + thoughtfully curated exhibitions throughout the year. Their buildings are open Mon-Sat 9a-5p.

Hardy & Nance Studios: Located in the Downtown Art Warehouse District, they provide good, affordable working spaces for area artists. Painters, sculptors, jewelry designers, and photographers are in residence, and their studios are open during each month’s gallery exhibition. ‘Portraits in June’ will take place on June 15th from 5-9pm. It’s always a fun time with great art at affordable prices – and you get to meet the artists.

Archway Gallery: As the longest running artist-owned and operated gallery in Texas, this Montrose gem has been supporting Houston’s visual and performing arts since 1976. Archway offers figure drawing classes each Sunday, plus monthly exhibitions and musical performances. June’s exhibit is called ‘Ink & Image 2024.’
